Apex Legends was developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA Game’s as their offering to the Battle Royale genre. With no prior announcement, EA decided to simply release the game on February 4, 2019. The first reviews were incredibly positive. Indeed, it was incredibly smooth for a newly released game, especially since it succeeded in attracting over one million users to its servers within the first eight hours of its release. This would normally overload serves, but this was not the case, with match-up queue times being quick and efficient. Over the first week, Shroud was often able to attract 101,000 views, with other channels still attracting another 150,000 viewers.
