One of the founding members of the well-known streaming and content production collective Offline TV is Disguised Toast.
Jeremy, a well-known Twitch streamer in his own right, said that he would think about switching to YouTube in the future, citing LilyPichu and Sykkuno as examples of streamers who did the same thing this year.
On his most recent stream, Disguised Toast revealed that he had renegotiated his offer with Twitch in response to the drama surrounding Nickmercs and San Diego TwitchCon.
At this point, he also began to consider whether switching to the Google-owned platform would be advantageous given Twitch’s history of firing well-known streamers like Ludwig.
The 30-year-old streamer’s name would be added to the growing list of creators who have recently switched from Twitch to YouTube if the move were to occur. Streamers are switching for a variety of reasons, including less oppressive bans and strikes and more lucrative offers.
Big streamers with varying levels of success, including Valkyrae, TimTheTatman, and the well-known Dr DisRespect, all exclusively stream on the red platform.
Disguised Toast discovered he had been back on Twitch from Facebook Gaming for nine months while reading resub notifications during a stream. This indicated an upcoming renegotiation period where he could try and get a better deal from the Amazon-owned streaming platform.
Disguised Toast stated that he believed he had a good chance of securing a better offer this time.
He then quickly changed his mind, claiming that Twitch’s strategy of spending a lot of money tosign Nickmercs had failed due to his recent controversy over the COVID-19 rules for the upcoming San Diego TwitchCon. He claimed that it might cause them to be reluctant to enter into exclusive agreements with streamers.
Disguised Toast felt he would be remiss if he did not think about moving to YouTube after speculating on what might occur if he attempted to land a significant contract from the purple platform. He made an objection to the move based on the fact that many of his friends moved, making fun of the fact that he was the last OTV streamer left on Twitch.
He later noted that one major drawback was that he would no longer be able to host anime watchparties.
Although many viewers encouraged the streamer to act, some were wary. Subscribers like nishnito alpha questioned YouTube’s streaming capabilities, claiming that some aspects of Twitch are superior.
Early in July, Myth, the last significant Twitch streamer to make the switch, and Disguised Toast moving to YouTube in the future are both conceivable.
Many people ponder whether Twitch can afford to lose another well-known streamer who currently has over two million followers on the platform given how many people are leaving the purple platform.
