Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Twitch streamer Tyler “Trainwrecks” Niknam has urged wealthy content creators to help Ukraine by donating to aid organizations.

Trainwrecks has made millions from virtual slot machines, streaming, and investments as one of the most popular gambling streamers in the community. He recently hit the jackpot after winning $8.75 million in a slot machine because of his popularity, companies like EA have paid him to play Apex Legends in order to promote the game to his fans. He has, however, demonstrated himself to be a true humanitarian on numerous occasions, donating his fortune to charity and to some very grateful up-and-coming streamers.

As the world continues to be shaken by the events surrounding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Trainwrecks has called on other wealthy content creators to help those who are suffering as a result of the crisis.

Trainwrecks issued a tweet on February 27th in which he urged other streamers to donate their fortunes to Ukraine relief organizations. Trainwrecks also stated that crowdfunding remains a viable option for delivering aid to Ukraine. Streamers who do both crowdfunding and individual donations from their own bank accounts, he claims, “doubles if not triples the aid.”

The appeal by Trainwrecks comes after a slew of high-profile streamers condemned Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Imane “Pokimane” Anys, a popular Twitch streamer, and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, a Fortnite fan, are among them. Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, who was born in Ukraine, also made an emotional plea for peace.

Surprisingly, the majority of Trainwrecks’ followers endorsed the idea and echoed his call for content creators to do more to assist Ukrainian citizens who are being targeted by Russia.

However, one of Trainwrecks’ fellow streamers, “Heav,” claimed to have participated in a subathon and donated half of her earnings to the Red Cross to aid in the relief efforts in Ukraine. Another supporter retweeted a message from Ukraine’s official Twitter account, explaining that those who want to help can also donate cryptocurrency.
