When trans Canadian Twitch streamer Clara Sorrenti was detained by London, Ontario police after they received false 911 calls claiming she planned to shoot people at city hall, they admitted their errors.

In connection with what are now thought to be false threats to harm people at City Hall, there was a deliberate attempt by a third party to cast suspicion on Sorrenti. According to London Police Service Chief Steve Williams, this is sometimes referred to as swatting.

Swatting is a term used to describe people who target another person and call emergency services or law enforcement pretending to be victims of a shooting or hostage situation.

In a YouTube video, Sorrenti AKA Keffals recently described how she was startled awake on August 5 by an assault rifle pointed at her face. According to the police, each city council member received an email that morning that was sent in the person of Sorrenti.

In the email, the sender who identified themselves as Keffals claimed that she had murdered her mother and was preparing to shoot everyone who identified as cisgender at the city hall.

The police claimed that after realizing that this was a swatting incident, they later released Sorrenti.
