There are many female twitch streamers that got insanely popular these days including the likes of popular streamer Pokimane, Loeya, lilypichu and many more. Because of this, some netizens have concluded that some of those female streamers only got popular easily because they are attractive.
Felix Lengyel aka xQc has recently shared his thoughts and concerns regarding this issue during one of his recent live broadcasts. xQc is known nowadays as he has been quite a talk right now due to some controversies that he was facing. However, because of being quite controversial these past few months, it helped him become one of the highest-earning streamers on twitch. He mostly focused on playing games however, when sometimes he feels like he needs to talk or comment about something, he will do it.
During the stream, xQc slammed some viewers that hate those successful female streamers on twitch saying that they are the minority in a male dominant industry. Some viewers claimed some female streamers have an easier time finding their success on streaming platforms especially if they are attractive. xQc explained “Successful girls in streaming are literally the very, very, very, minority, That’s just how it is. There aren’t a lot of… crazy successful streamer girls because it’s a male-dominant sector. So whenever there’s one or two that arrive, why do people always immediately assume… they only made it because they’re hot?”
What xQc is trying to point out is that it’s wrong to discredit female streamers for their success on Twitch. People should encourage and support female streamers to help narrow the gap. He explained that it is statistically incorrect. Streaming platforms have become popular nowadays due to the boredom because of the pandemic therefore many have made this opportunity to start streaming on their own. Anyone, male or female, has the right to do what they want even if they want to become a streamer.
