Following a dramatic suspension, Twitch streamer Asmongold couldn’t help but be critical of Blizzard’s new Diablo Immortal F2P title.

Asmongold tried the PvP mode Battlegrounds for the first time on stream after spending over $2,000 on the game and was disappointed to find that he couldn’t join a match. As his chat indicated, the PvP mode is only available at certain times.

Zack couldn’t believe that despite spending so much money and time leveling up his character, the MMO was still denying paying customers access to content. He slammed the game in a recent tweet, calling it “sucks.”

Asmon’s frustration with the game’s mechanics is evident in a video titled sarcastically “Diablo Immortal has the best PvP.”

When the ‘Find Match’ button was greyed out while trying to play the Battlegrounds mode for the first time, the OTK co-founder couldn’t believe his eyes. After failing to gather enough players for a raid, he was already nervous about the mode.

He found that the NPC that starts the Battlegrounds mode was closed when he navigated to it.

The streamer fell silent and desperately searched his chat for an explanation. They pointed out that the NPC dialogue he skipped provides information about when the arena will open.

As the chat streamed down KEKWs and OMEGALULs, Asmon turned off his mic to express his frustration with the game. The game was then criticized by the Austin, Texas native.

Despite being marketed as a free-to-play game, many players have complained about the game’s irritating mechanics, which favor microtransactions. Diablo Immortal’s low Metacritic scores are due to timed events that are locked even for Battle Pass owners, among other things.

Many Asmongold fans have echoed his sentiments and have panned the game. People are criticizing Blizzard for creating a microtransaction-heavy game with little effort put into user enjoyment in the YouTube comments below the video.

Fans also pointed out that, similar to Diablo 3, the game’s pay-to-win feature will make matchmaking difficult for both whales and free-to-play players. One fan pointed out that the free activities are heavily timed, whereas paying for the same activities removes the time constraints.

Diablo has received a lot of criticism for its poor reviews and anti-player-friendly structure.

Asmongold’s irritated reaction to timed PvP is just the latest in a long line of negative responses to Blizzard’s policies. So much so that Asmon himself is skeptical of the next AAA Diablo game, stating in a tweet that his expectations have been lowered as a result of his recent experience with Diablo Immortal.
