Valkyrae is still dealing with the RFLCT skincare issue. Ideavation Labs’ new skincare line has come under fire for making dubious claims about the effects of artificial blue light on skin. Yesterday, Atrioc, a variety streamer, mistakenly disclosed private DMs between Valkyrae and Twitch celebrity Ludwig.
During a Twitch Rivals stream, Atrioc was using Ludwig’s computer and revealed Ludwig’s Discord app, which displayed chats between Ludwig and Valkyrae. Ludwig was hosting a Fall Guys tournament with a $50,000 prize pool when the spill happened. xQc, Sykkuno, BrookeAB, and MoistCr1TiKaL were among the top streamers who took part.
Valkyrae and Ludwig’s leaked DMs were only on screen for a split second, but it was enough to reveal Valkyrae’s thoughts on the ongoing dispute. Valkyrae informed Ludwig that she trusted her team and believed the studies she had seen, a view she reiterated during her October 23rd YouTube video. Ludwig expressed concern for Valkyrae’s plight and offered his opinion on RFLCT producer Ideavation Labs.
Ludwig said; “I feel like they’re playing the long game and don’t want to show any studies, but do want to use your reputation to still be able to sell product in the short term, which is just shitty for you”.
Many people believe Ideavation Labs’ research is untrustworthy or inadequate because it refuses to make it public.
ULTA, a prominent U.S. cosmetics distributor, has invested $4 million in carrying the RFLCT brand in their stores across the country, according to Valkyrae. If ULTA was ready to invest in the brand, she reasoned, it had to believe in Ideavation Labs’ hidden study. RFLCT continues to annoy Valkyrae, which is understandable.
Valkyrae told Ludwig; “This RUINS my brand if the research isn’t public. I really needed it to be public… I should have asked more questions, I just thought it was obvious it would be there.”
Valkyrae then goes on to berate herself in the messages, declaring that she will “embrace the scammer life.”
However, she did not deceive her audience, at least not on purpose. She appears to have been a victim herself, given her sincere confidence in the secret research. Valkyrae also intends to end her cooperation with RFLCT and terminate her contract in the future.
She explained; “They hate me for leaving the contract. But it’s looking like it’s possible so I’m hopeful.”
Valkyrae indicated that she may not have signed one of her contracts in the RFLCT deal, allowing her to leave with minimal consequences.
Valkyrae had planned to issue a statement, but she said that the brand’s PR and legal staff are pressuring her to say things she doesn’t agree with. She gave an example saying; “While I will still be using RFLCT products, I hope nothing but the best for this passionate team.”
In which Ludwig responded saying, “LOLOL that’s psychopathic.”
