In his latest live broadcast on August 27th, Minecraft streamer Technoblade made a heartbreaking announcement to his fans as he revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer.
Technoblade is one of the most popular Minecraft streamers who amassed more than 8 million subscribers on YouTube. Technoblade has been inactive on YouTube, Twitch, and social media accounts for quite some time now as he was on an extended hiatus where he stopped uploading videos.
In his return stream, he revealed that he was experiencing some pain in his right arm by the end of July so he decided to take a few days off to try and recover. But after a few days, he noticed his shoulder was swelling and assumed he had broken a bone, so he went to the hospital where he was told the bad news. He revealed that doctors had taken several scans and confirmed that a tumor caused the swelling in his right arm. He immediately began his chemotherapy sessions and mentioned that his treatments have been going well, though his energy seems low.
Technoblade did not mention what type of cancer he was battling but he stated that arm soreness led to him visiting the doctor, so he might be diagnosed with Sarcoma which is a type of cancer that often starts in the tissues of bones or muscles. Despite the diagnosis, the YouTuber still joked at how silly it was to have cartoon Minecraft footage playing over such a serious reveal. He also said that although the diagnosis has taken a toll on his lifestyle, he will continue creating content for his fans.
Technoblade’s announcement of cancer was unfortunate news for fans. However, he relieved his fans by saying that he’s going back for chemotherapy this coming week. Many fans and popular streamers like Dream and Skeppy came forward to support Technoblade and wish him a speedy recovery.
