Rachell ‘Valkyrae‘ Hofstetter, a YouTube star, chastised fans who sent her “sick” messages in her Instagram DMs, threatening them with a swift block as a result.

Valkyrae is a well-known live streamer on the internet. Rae won Content Creator of the Year at the Game Awards in 2020 after switching platforms from Twitch to YouTube.

Since then, she’s appeared in a music video with Machine Gun Kelly, collaborated with Gucci, and even co-founded 100 Thieves, an esports and entertainment group.

Despite having millions of adoring fans, online celebrity has its drawbacks, one of which is the occasional wild DM from an overly enthusiastic viewer. Valkyrae spoke out about these types of messages in a recent stream, explaining why she’s prepared to block anyone who sends her “sick” messages.

Valkyrae explained that the fan’s messages had been going on for “days” before blocking the person — as well as any other accounts they might create in the future.

Valkyrae’s warning follows another tense experience for the streamer, who thought her house was being broken into last week — but thankfully, she was able to clarify that it was most likely just a “raccoon” rummaging through the garbage outside.
