Gaming Origins
MyMisterFruit was given a Gameboy with Pokémon while he was in kindergarten in Las Vegas. His family moved to Jacksonville, FL when he was five and that was when he received a Gameboy Color. He spent a lot of his free time either playing video games or outdoor sports with his friends while he lived there. During that time, he saved up his pocket money to buy himself a Nintendo 64.
In fourth grade, his family moved to Colorado. He had a rough time at first, until he met Rhabby_V when he transferred to his school in the fifth grade. They soon became best friends and spent most of their free time throughout their school and college careers gaming together. As they continue to do today. When he was still in elementary school, his parents bought the family a PlayStation 2, and he has continued moving onto to other systems as he’s grown older.
When he was in the sixth grade, he and Rhabby_v decided to learn how to play with their Pokémon cards correctly. They soon began participating in local events and MyMisterFruit began competing on a national level. He even made it to the seventh place spot for his age group in North America, and even competed at the World Championship. However, he stopped in the eight grade. During the seventh grade, he went through a depressive phase. When he to a new school for eighth grade, he learned about depression and was able to cope better. Gaming played a major in that.
After high school, he went on to attend Colorado State University. However, he decided to drop out to pursue full-time content creation after his first semester of his junior year.
Professional Gaming
During high school, he started casually uploading Halo content to his first YouTube channel, A Bowl of Fruit. He had been inspired by Machinima creators such as SeaNanners and Hutch, and even did data entry for them in order to earn money to upgrade his own equipment.
In February 2014 during his freshman year of college, he was inspired to make a fresh start, and so start up his current YouTube channel. He churned out daily videos at first, but then slowed down when he realized that he was overdoing it. In 2014, he got sick and stopped creating content for a while, However, on September 9, 2014, he bought Destiny on its launch day and in November he decided to begin uploading content again. He began grinding again and managed to hit the front page of the Destiny Subreddit after a couple of months. This was the turning point that really sent his viewership and subscriber count skyrocketing. In March 2015, he recruited Rhabby-v and another friend, BlueWestlo to creating a weekly series called The Dream Team, which further boosted his follower base.
He started streaming on Twitch on April 23, 2016.
