Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, a gaming legend, has a long history with stream snipers. Most people who are familiar with Fortnite Battle Royale know what we’re talking about in the early days. There’s also the infamous incident in which Ninja misidentified “IcyFive” as a stream sniper despite the player’s denials.
To be honest, stream sniping is an unavoidable part of the content creation process. That sentiment is especially true for someone like Ninja, who was unquestionably the most popular gamer on the planet for a long time. While stream sniping is usually considered a malicious act, some perpetrators take it lightly.
A recent stream involving Ninja, Jack “CouRageJD” Dunlop, Ben “DrLupo” Lupo, and Ali “SypherPK” Hassan, for example, featured a hilarious encounter. Thousands of viewers, as well as the four players, laughed at Ninja’s expense.
In Chapter 3 Season 1, the original Fortnite gang reunited to play public matches. Streams like this are a blast from the past, as Ninja, DrLupo, SypherPK, and Courage were all part of Fortnite’s golden era. The squad knows how to make each other laugh and troll each other, but this time clever stream snipers injected themselves into the mix.
Jake Lucky, an esports personality, captured and posted a video of what happened during a Fortnite match. Ninja, Lupo, Sypher, and Courage were having a good time in-game when they came across a strange structure. A group of stream snipers had spelled out “Mixer” in wooden pieces, which was revealed upon closer inspection.
Except for Ninja, the rest of the group burst out laughing at the situation right away. Ninja flexed the “Make It Rain” emote before giggling to himself in response to their reaction. It was a fun moment to witness among friends.
Ninja signed a record-breaking deal with the now-defunct Mixer streaming platform, for those who don’t get the reference. Ninja was reportedly paid $50 million for the deal, making him the highest-paid content creator at the time.
Before Mixer was shut down by Microsoft, he worked there for less than a year. Mixer is still a running joke, despite Ninja’s return to Twitch following a historic buyout. Ninja is usually a good sport when it comes to Mixer-related banter, whether it comes from his friends or from strangers. Given that he received a full contract payout from Mixer, the Fortnite legend had the last laugh. Even so, the jokes resurface from time to time as a constant reminder of the Mixer era.
Ninja currently broadcasts Fortnite to tens of thousands of people every day on Twitch. When characters like Courage and SypherPK are involved, you can expect moments like this and more.
