Shortyyguy has been part of the streaming community since 2011 when he was still in college. Over the years, he has played a variety of games and really started to grow when he began collaborating with other streamers such as Lirik and GiantWaffle. WHAT MONITOR DOES SHORTYYGUY USE?

ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 27”

Shortyyguy uses an ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 27” monitor. The ROG Swift PG279Q is a 27″ gaming monitor that has won a few awards. It offers a resolution of up to 2560 x 1440 at a standard refresh rate of 144Hz@4ms. This can be increased to 165Hz when overclocked. Its pixel pitch is at 0.233 x 0.233mm and it has a maximum brightness of 350cd/㎡.

It also integrates both NVIDIA G Sync technology to reduce lagging, tearing, and stuttering, and ASUS’ Eye Care Technology to reduce eyestrain during longer gaming sessions. It accomplishes this by providing a choice of four different settings of blue light. Its stand provides adjustability options including height of up to 120mm (4.73”), pivoting 90°, swiveled -60° ~ 60° and tilted -5° to 20°. WHAT MOUSE DOES SHORTYYGUY USE?

Glorious Model O (White Matte)

Shortyyguy uses a Glorious Model O (White Matte) mouse. The Glorious Model O is a wired gaming mouse that is fitted with a PixArt 3360 optical sensor. This sensor offers a rand of 400 – 12,000 DPI. The DPI can be adjusted in steps of 100 and allows for up to 6 profiles to be stored onboard. Its maximum tracking speed is 250 IPS There are six programmable buttons, namely the clickers, DPI button and scroll wheel and two side buttons on the right-thumb side. However, only one macro profile can be stored directly onboard. It also on-board polling options of 125, 250, 500 and 1,000Hz.

It is constructed from a honeycomb plastic shell that makes it extremely lightweight at just 67g (2.36oz) despite its RGB features. The ergonomic shape accommodates all grip-styles. It also features 100% pure Virgin PTFE feet that are 0.81m thick. This helps with smoother movement. Although its software is only compatible with Windows 7 or later systems, it is also compatible with Mac and Linux PCs with its basic settings. It measures 12.8 x 6.6 c 3.75cm (5.04 x 2.6 x 1.48″) and has a 2m (6.5ft) braided cable.

WHAT KEYBOARD DOES SHORTYYGUY USE?

Anne 2 Pro 60%

Shortyyguy uses an Anne 2 Pro 60% keyboard. The Anne Pro 2 is an ultra-compact, wireless gaming keyboard that comprises of just 61-keys and is available in a few switch options an either white or black. Shortyyguy’s setup includes the black version with Gateron Brown switches. These actuate at a force of 55gf and a point of 2mm for a total travel distance of 4mm.They are then set with double-shot PBT keycaps. Its chassis is constructed from hard plastic on a metal backplate.

It has 16 macro buttons despite lacking the number pad, F-keys and arrow keys and commands keys. All of these be assigned as secondary functions to any other key through the software. It also features 100% ant-ghosting with full-key rollover. The Bluetooth connectivity enables wireless connection of up to four devices so that you can seamlessly switch back and forth between them. Compatible devices include Android, iOS, Linux, Mac OS, Nintendo, Windows 10/2000/8/7. The battery life can last between 8 hours to four weeks depending on the lighting and wireless settings and it can also be used while charging.

WHAT HEADSET DOES SHORTYYGUY USE?

Sennheiser HD 650

Shortyyguy uses Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. Shortyyguy uses the Massdrop, limited edition version of the HD650s known as the HD6XX. It can occasionally be found on the Massdrop website. They are a pair of dynamic hi-fi stereo headphones that are engineered for audiophiles and professional users. They are constructed from solid plastic with lightweight aluminum voice coils with open-backed earcups that provide an excellent transient response. The over-ear earcups are also padded with soft velour for extra padding, and the adjustable headband is also padded. They have a contact pressure of 6.0 N ± 1 N.

Their dynamic neodymium ferrous drivers offer a frequency response range 10 – 41,000Hz at a nominal impedance of 300Ω and an SPL of 103dB. Their 3m (9.84ft) cable is detachable and the device weighs just 260g (0.57lb.)

WHAT MICROPHONE DOES SHORTYYGUY USE?

Shure SM7B microphone

Shortyyguy uses a Shure SM7B microphone. The Shure SM7b is a popular piece of streaming equipment that also appears in big-name setups such as Loeya, Fresh and KingRichard, among many others. It is a dynamic microphone that operates at a front-address and has a unidirectional polar pattern. This pattern has a noise-cancelling effect, as it picks up inputs from the front of the pattern, while it is far less sensitive to sounds originating from the sides, and even less so to those at the back. It also features an internal pop-filter to soften plosive sounds, and an internal shock mount

It offers a flat frequency response range of 50 – 20,000Hz can effectively capture vocals and bass instruments. It operates at a nominal impedance of 150Ω and a sensitivity of -59 dBV/Pa. There is a presence boost button, as well as a high press-filter. It is constructed from enamel aluminum with a steel case to protect its cartridge. It requires an XLR cable and audio interface but does not run on phantom power.

WHAT WEBCAM DOES SHORTYYGUY USE?

Sony a7 III mirrorless camera

Shortyyguy uses a Sony a7 III camera with a Sony SEL 28F20 FE lens. The Sony a7 III is a mirrorless digital camera that features an 24.2MP Exmor R CMOS sensor that offers a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 (QFHD) at 10fps. It is enabled with eye-detection autofocus that operates with 693 phase-detection points that can easily track a rapidly moving subject. There are also brightness adjustments of between -2 to 2. These, as well as many other creative and professional functions can be set on its 3.0″ 922k-dot tiltable LDC touchscreen. Furthermore, its Bluetooth 4.0+ connectivity is compatible with Android 5.0 or later, as well as iOS devices so as to allow for the easy transfer of data. Its battery life can last up to 200 hours, but it can also obviously be set up to record while plugged in to a PC, although this will require additional hardware such as a capture card.

All told, this is an excellent camera with a hefty price-tag that is probably more suited to established streamers or vloggers. So, if you’re just starting out, you may want to consider going with a basic webcam.

WHAT MIXER DOES SHORTYYGUY USE?

TC-Helicon GoXLR mixer

Shortyyguy uses a TC Helicon GoXLR mixer. This is another piece of equipment that regularly appears in streamers’ setups. It is good for solo recording, as it has a single mic channel that can connect either an XLR cable or a TS/TRSTRRS jack and provide it with +48V of phantom power and 70Db of gain. It does not have a USB input port. It also has RGB lighting options. It can also input one headphone at a time.

Its three other dedicated channels are for Chat, Music and System controls, and all four feature their own dedicated volume slider and mute button. However, it is intended for solo recording as it can only handle one audio input and one headphone input at a time.

It has options to tweak or create various vocal effects that can then be applied directly on the GoXLR. The standard options include Reverb, Pitch Echo, Robot, Megaphone and HardTune, among others. There are many more options available through its software. It also has a sample section on which the user can intersperse their live recordings with short bursts of preset sounds, while yet another smaller section includes a temporary mute and bleep button.
