Shroud’s theory that Riot Games deliberately created a “Losers Queue” that tries to retain players has been refuted by a valiant developer.

A “losers queue” is not exactly a brand-new idea. Some players think you’re purposefully put into a lobby with people who have also lost their previous matches to give you a better chance of winning in order to keep you hooked for as long as possible.

Although there is no evidence to support the existence of such a thing, it sometimes feels that way. If you’re a gamer who stays up all night trying to win, it might seem like the lobby challenges are becoming less difficult.

Shroud learned about the losers queue theory through his chat during a recent broadcast. Initially hesitant to accept the idea, the 28-year-old streamer eventually warmed to it. Before asking his teammates if they had lost their previous game, Shroud remarks that make a lot of sense. They all agreed, supporting the theory further, leaving Shroud as bewildered as he was but according to Jon ‘EvrMoar’ Walker, senior competitive designer at Valorant, a losers queue isn’t a real thing.

Although many people are still not convinced, we have heard it directly from the source. We may never understand why it seems like there is a losers queue, but rest assured that this is all a myth.
