Mizkif, a Twitch streamer, has rejoined One True King (OTK) following an investigation into an alleged cover-up of a sexual assault.
A few months ago, the streamer took a leave of absence from Twitch and his responsibilities as one of the co-founders of OTK while the firm carried out an independent investigation into the matter involving CrazySlick and Adrianah Lee. Lee described an event at a birthday celebration in 2021 where CrazySlick reportedly assaulted her while she was unconscious in a TwitLonger post in September. She further claimed that Mizkif and his ex-girlfriend Maya Higa, who were living with CrazySlick at the time, had asked her to minimize the incident in order to protect CrazySlick’s reputation.
Later, Mizkif issued a statement of his own in which he expressed regret to Lee and acknowledged that he had played the incident down at the time. Because of Lee’s allegations and leaked discussions in which Mizkif used homophobic and racial insults, OTK put the streamer on unpaid leave. The firm emphasized that it strongly opposed all types of sexual harassment, assault, and prejudice.
OTK made a statement on New Year’s Eve informing the public that the Mizkif inquiry was over. Jackson Walker LP, a third-party law company, reported that after obtaining the requisite information, it had not discovered any concrete proof that the streamer had tried to hide Lee’s sexual assault. However, OTK underlined that when Mizkif performed his comeback stream in October, there was also a lack of understanding for how severe the circumstance was.
Mizkif was consequently relieved of his responsibilities as an OTK board member but was nevertheless permitted to rejoin the group on a closely watched probationary period until he can demonstrate to his fellow board members that “he is capable of preserving our organization’s values.”
The majority of the Twitch community had negative reactions to Mizkif’s return, with many contesting the accuracy of the outside company’s conclusions and charging OTK with conducting their own independent investigation. These are legitimate worries, particularly in light of the fact that Rich Campbell, an OTK co-founder who was accused of sexual assault, quit right away, while Mizkif was let to stay on. However, as one viewer noted, given that the streamer is on monitored probation, it’s likely that OTK would terminate him if he were to be detected breaking the company’s trust once more.
As of this writing, Mizkif has not commented on the OTK announcement on Twitch or on social media. Although it’s unclear at this point whether he will stream more frequently now that he’s back with OTK, it’s unlikely that he will receive the same enthusiastic response from viewers given the events of the past few weeks.
