Warzone streamer HusKerrs was charged $250 to compete in a tournament, but the reasons for the charge aren’t what you’d expect.
Popular streamers have been known to work from separate rooms in order to soundproof the area and avoid disturbing neighbors. In the heat of battle, things can get a little rowdy, and you don’t want a noise complaint to ruin your gaming session. When you’re locked out of your room, it’s impossible to stream and play, and HusKerrs ran into this problem just hours before a Warzone tournament.
HusKerrs was preparing to load up his stream and warm up for a Rebirth Island tournament on March 26th. However, the streamer’s luck ran out when his door refused to open.
On Twitter, the World Series of Warzone champion revealed that his office door keypad had broken and he didn’t have a key to open it.
So, like any other normal person, he enlisted the help of a professional to attempt to pick the lock. The lock, however, could not be picked due to its structure and had to be destroyed. It wasn’t going to be easy for Husk, and it wasn’t going to be free.
He revealed that removing it would cost $250. HusKerrs finally went live on Twitch, and he admitted to his chat that he felt ripped off.
HusKerrs claimed he did it because he was in a “time crunch” and needed to get into the tournament as soon as possible. As he had no other way to access his PC and compete in the Warzone event, it just turned out to be an expensive “entry fee” to play.
