For a limited time, all real-money purchases in Epic’s Fortnite will be donated to the Ukraine Humanitarian Relief Fund as the new season begins.

Many Twitch streamers, as well as other game and media companies, have expressed their support for those impacted by the Ukraine conflict. Epic Games announced on Sunday, March 20, 2022, that all real-money purchases and funds from Fortnite would be used to provide humanitarian aid to those affected by the Ukrainian conflict. From March 20, 2022, to April 3, 2022, this fundraising event will take place. A total of $36 million USD has been raised as of today, all in the last 24 hours.

Direct Relief, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP), and the United Nations Refugee Agency make up the humanitarian relief organization (UNHCR). More organizations will be added to the list “later in the coming weeks,” according to Epic Games. These organizations help provide emergency aid, health support, food and clean water, essential supplies, legal aid, and shelter to those affected by the war in Ukraine.

Purchases of V-Buck packs, Fortnite Crew, gifted Battle Passes, and cosmetic packs like the Voidlander Pack made with real money will go towards the fund if made during the limited time period stated above.

In addition to the proceeds from Fortnite, Microsoft will donate the net proceeds from all Fortnite content sales made on the Microsoft Store during the fundraiser.

The start of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2: Resistance coincided with this limited charity event. There are numerous changes and new content that were intended to drastically alter the game. The most significant change was the removal of the building, as well as increased movement and sprint speeds. Players can now mantle onto high ledges, in addition to the movement changes. The Overshield, which takes damage from regular shields and can recharge over time, was also added.

Doctor Strange, the villain Prowler, and the Sorcerer Supreme himself from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are all featured in the Battle Pass! Tsuki 2.0, Gunnar, The Imagined, Kiara K.O., The Origin, and Erisa are among the other characters in the Battle Pass. Players can also use the Omni Sword Pickaxe with Omni Sword Quests as part of the new Battle Pass. This is a Battle Pass that no Fortnite player should pass up.

While all of the new additions and cool aesthetics this season are fantastic, it’s worth noting that all real-money purchases, such as purchasing a Battle Pass, will go towards a humanitarian relief fund for those affected by the Ukraine conflict.
