A former member of 100 Thieves and a famous Twitch streamer, Froste recently had a PayPal issue during a charity stream.
After Froste’s charity livestream, he was reportedly shut out of his own account due to a violation of PayPal’s standards. The said action has stopped him from donating any of the $64,238.40 he received as part of the Gamers Outreach program to a charity. Froste took to Twitter to post his conversation with PayPal support and it definitely made a fuss all over the said platform, which effectively worsened the situation by locking him out of his account for 180 days.
Froste sent screenshots of the messages he got on his PayPal account to PayPal’s Twitter account. PayPal permanently prevented Froste from completing any more transactions, citing inconsistent behavior on his account that violated their user agreement.
After a short delay, PayPal customer service contacted Froste, only to deliver awful news. Froste received a call from the payments agency, informing him that they have decided to discontinue all their available services for him and would be holding his money for 180 days.
“Thank you for contacting us regarding your account’s restriction. We appreciate your interest in PayPal, and I’m sorry to inform you that we will no longer be able to provide you with access to our services. This isn’t something we take lightly, and I can tell you that we thoroughly consider all important aspects before making such a choice. While I understand your dissatisfaction with the outcome, there is little you can do about it.”
Froste is exploring legal action to file against PayPal because more than $60,000 in charity contributions have sat idle for more than 180 days and will not be distributed to those in need.
Unfortunately, a kind $95,000 gift triggered the problem, as PayPal recognized the conduct as “risky” and shut down the account. Froste appears to be working hard to get this money into the hands of the appropriate people, and all that remains to be seen is how the situation plays out.
