Alex Fennell, who has worked on Halo, the Elder Scrolls, and other games, has been named Technical Director of Infrastructure at Midnight Society.

Dr Disrespect has become one of the most well-known online personalities in the world in the more than a decade since he began streaming and creating content. Herschel “Guy” Beahm, a popular battle royale streamer who became an internet celebrity after a successful career on Twitch and later YouTube, recently announced a draft pick for the NFL’s 49ers and even started his own game studio, Midnight Society. With Dr. Disrespect’s lofty ambitions for the studio to create AAA-level experiences, Midnight Society recently hired a high-profile developer.

Since Dr Disrespect first announced the establishment of Midnight Society late last year, the Doc’s fledgling game studio has received plenty of attention. While little is known about Midnight Society’s first major project, which is rumored to be a battle royale game, the studio has already received backlash from fans for using NFTs as part of its “Founder’s Pass.”

Midnight Society announced on Monday that Alex Fennell would be joining the company as Technical Director of Infrastructure.

Fennell has a long history in the gaming industry, having worked for companies such as Ubisoft, Rockstar, 343 Industries, and Maxis, among others.

Fennell has worked on several The Sims games as well as the Halo and Elder Scrolls franchises. Fennell most recently worked for Manticore Games, the developer of the popular online game Core.

Fennell’s addition to the Midnight Society roster is the latest in a long line of announcements about new talent joining the studio. Former Call of Duty and Star Wars gameplay engineer Jim Gray has recently joined the studio, and the developer has posted job listings for several other positions on its official Twitter account.

Despite the fact that the studio has yet to reveal its in-development game codenamed “Project Moon,” the promotional imagery for Midnight Society’s game has already drawn comparisons to CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077.

While Dr Disrespect’s Midnight Society hasn’t revealed much about the studio’s first game, the streamer has been in the spotlight for his own achievements in recent months. Mountain Dew previously featured the iconic streamer with his own version of Mountain Dew Game Fuel, and the Doc’s long-running feud with Twitch finally came to an end in 2022, despite the streamer opting to stay with YouTube.

Dr Disrespect will look to stay in the online spotlight for years to come, thanks to his thriving career as a streamer and the growth of Midnight Society.
