During an IRL stream, a Twitch content creator accidentally recorded an accident involving an SUV and a deer while driving down a highway.

Currently, a wide variety of unintentional actions have been recorded on Twitch livestreams. Most recently, Awkwards_Travel, a pair of Twitch streamers, spent nearly four hours stranded at sea after the engine on their boat failed. They successfully avoided any collisions while filming their journey around the Mediterranean Sea and were waiting for a tug boat to rescue them.

Another unfortunate occurrence on Twitch streams is swatting, as was the case on June 18 when PixelKitten was swatted during a charity stream. Police informed her father that a caller had reported an armed shooter at their house.

Officers obviously needed to investigate the situation, but they were fortunate to be aware of the potential for swatting and arrived before PixelKitten had time to put her guard dog away.

Rellik, a creator of Twitch content, recorded another incident during an in-person stream on the website. The streamer was driving down a freeway when other cars zoomed by on the left and he started slowing down to get onto the offramp. Unintentionally, Rellik’s camera recorded an SUV striking a deer. The animal, which was almost undetectable in the video before, was thrown off the road at a speed of at least 60 MPH. You can watch the incident’s video clip here, but be aware that some viewers may find its content upsetting.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that the deer survived the collision given how it was struck by the moving SUV. A second video clip that was uploaded to Rellik’s Twitch channel shows the content creator approaching the SUV and talking to the two people inside while the passenger is holding their small dog. Rellik instructs them on where to locate the accident’s Twitch video, most likely for insurance reasons. Although there is no video of the SUV’s hood, it is unknown whether the deer’s impact caused any significant damage to the SUV’s hood. Nevertheless, both of the car’s occupants appear to be unharmed.

Of course, there have also been other, unsettling events recorded on Twitch. Criminals have occasionally been successful in drawing attention to themselves on the platform, as happened in 2019 when a man livestreamed his attempt to enter a German synagogue brandishing a weapon for 35 minutes.

Of course, there have also been other, unsettling events recorded on Twitch. Criminals have occasionally been successful in drawing attention to themselves on the platform, as happened in 2019 when a man livestreamed his attempt to enter a German synagogue brandishing a weapon for 35 minutes. He couldn’t get in, so he shot and killed two people outside before leaving in his car.

Twitch livestreamed a racially motivated mass shooting in Buffalo on May 14, 2022, for two minutes before taking down the video. Letitia James, the attorney general of New York, is looking into the incident.
