Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, a famous Twitch streamer, wants to remain active in the professional Valorant scene.
He announced his return to professional play three weeks ago, and now he’s busy practicing with his new team, Sentinels, in order to get ready for the VCT North America Last Chance Qualifier.
Shroud elaborated on what he believes must occur for him to be able to compete professionally in a recent stream, and shocked everyone by abruptly returning to esports in 2019 after quitting CS:GO in 2018 and working as a full-time content creator for the previous four years.
The 28-year-old joined Sentinels last month to compete in the upcoming VCT NA LCQ, but he recently revealed that he has since changed his mind, telling viewers in a stream that the decision was made on the spur of the moment.
Shroud relocated from his $9.4 million mansion in California to Complexity Gaming‘s corporate headquarters in Texas to enroll in the Sentinels’ boot camp.
Another significant worry is Riot Games’ new partnership model, which is currently changing the competitive Valorant scene. Only teams that have been granted permission to participate in Riot Games’ new partnership model will be eligible for the VCT 2023 season.
Teams and players are leaving the intensely competitive Valorant scene as a result of the fact that a number of organizations have already been unable to move on to the next stage of this partnership selection. Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan claims that recently Sentinels had trouble finding teams to scrim against as a result.
The former CS:GO pro who now plays Valorant said he wasn’t sure whether Sentinels would be awarded a franchise at the conclusion of Riot Games’ partnership selection, which leaves him unsure of whether his involvement with Sentinels will continue.
