Mission Control today invited gamers in five northeastern U.S. cities to compete in the series of Xfinity City and in which is powered by Xfinity, the nation’s largest gigabit internet provider and features “Fortnite,” “Rocket League,” and “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.”

The month-long event will begin on January 4, 2022, with players competing in four regular-season games per title, followed by a series of playoffs. The winners of the “Fortnite” and “Rocket League” events will receive a Playstation 5 and Super Smash Bros.

Winners of the Ultimate Championship will receive a Nintendo Switch (OLED Model). With their respective console, all monthly event winners will also receive a custom controller. Participants will receive digital brag badges that they can use to brag about their rank and participation on social media.

Comcast has been a driving force in the gaming industry since 2015, with partnerships with Twitch, G4, Overwatch League, Philadelphia Fusion, and Nerd Street Gamers, as well as sponsorships of high-profile streamers and content creators like Bugha, BasicallyIDoWrk, and iamBrandon.

In recent years, the video game market has grown to encompass two-thirds of the country’s population, with 227 million people identifying as gamers in the United States. Finding a community to play with, on the other hand, can be difficult for many of those players. Mission Control gives gamers the structured gameplay they crave in a safe and welcoming environment.

“Xfinity City Series” players can register for community activities, review their schedules, find match instructions, track their performances, and chat with league-wide rivals by logging into the Mission Control app.
