Another massive Call of Duty: Vanguard tournament is already in the books, with Team Simp taking first place in the $40,000 Community Showdown.
With Vanguard’s launch week behind us, eFuse hosted another $40,000 tournament to keep the hype train going. Many of CoD’s most popular streamers were present at the Community Showdown, which featured a mix of CDL talent.
While Team Simp came out on top in the end, here’s a rundown of how the event went down.
- 1st- Team Simp
- 2nd- Team Envoy
- 3rd- Team Methodz
- 4th- Team Scump
- Top 6- Team Kenny, Team Crimsix
- Top 8- Team SlasheR, Team Cammy
Tournaments are becoming even more competitive now that every CoD pro has had a few days to grind Vanguard. Teams can concentrate on frying now that the best weapons have been selected, strategies have been devised, and maps have been prioritized.
That’s exactly what happened in this $40K Community Showdown, as each of the first two series was a complete rout. Some teams, such as Team Cammy and Team SlasheR, were unable to win a single map during their runs. Team Envoy, on the other hand, made it all the way to the Grand Finals without dropping a single map.
After three consecutive wins in the lower bracket, they faced off against Team Simp in the final match of the day. While it was a close race throughout the series, it was Simp, Newbz, Rated, and aBeZy who came out on top in the end.
On Monday, November 15, the first round of the $40K Community Showdown tournament began at 1 p.m. ET. The official Twitch channel of eFuse hosted the said event throughout the day, serving as a hub stream to keep fans up to date on all of the matches.
Additionally, during their run, individual players streamed their own POVs. The Community Showdown lasted just under six hours in total.
This $40K Community Showdown featured eight teams. These teams were all placed in a standard double-elimination bracket and were required to play a variety of maps and modes.
Each roster included two current Call of Duty League pros as well as any two non-CDL players. This included Challengers stars as well as Warzone streamers.
Only the top three teams received cash for their efforts, with a total prize pool of $40,000.
The $40K tournament certainly attracted the big guns, with all eight teams boasting top-tier talent.
