Following a recent earthquake in the area, Turkish Twitch and YouTube streamer Ahmet “Jahrein” used his Twitter account to contact key figures in the streaming business.

The tragedy, which registered a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale and caused more than 4000 fatalities and 15,000 injuries in Turkey and Syria, also had an impact on nearby countries. Jahrein tagged a number of streamers, creators, and internet celebrities, which led to a significant contribution frenzy. He stated: “We are trying to help as much as possible by collecting donations as community and knowing that you have great influence on communities, we need your help.”

One of the most well-known Twitch streamers, HasanAbi, who also happens to be of Turkish ancestry, was one of the main people to answer Jahrein’s plea for assistance. Many people are now homeless as a result of the horrific earthquake, which claimed hundreds of lives.

The pair created a Softgiving charity page, and as of this writing, it had received almost $575K in donations.
