In an effort to raise money for various charities, Post Malone has been using Twitch this week to showcase his gaming skills. Yesterday, however, he was compelled to fulfill a hefty fundraising incentive.
He had promised his viewers that he would attempt a backflip if his stream raised $50,000 for United Way, but when the money started coming in, he found himself in a difficult situation. Post Malone briefly tried to break his promise because he was afraid to accept the challenge, but as a man of the people, he eventually kept his word.
Post Malone stood up from his computer and attempted a hilariously amateur backflip by flailing his arms and kicking one of his legs in the air. The attempted backflip resembled a face kick in mixed martial arts more than a true backflip. Post Malone was nevertheless enthusiastic about his efforts.
Putting aside the silliness, the popular rapper’s charity event for the United Way yesterday was a success, raising $50,684.76, according to the graphic that appeared on his screen at the conclusion of his stream.
His stream also promoted awareness by including a message in the stream title and featuring a United Way graphic. He also took a few seconds here and there to introduce himself and explain why he is working to raise money for United Way.
According to Streams Charts, Malone had an average of 37,462 viewers who watched for 352,759 hours over the course of his 9.5-hour stream. He spent the entire stream in the Apex Legends category, reaching a peak of 52,871 viewers. He participated in the game with well-known YouTuber Corpse Husband and Apex streamer Faide.
