Pokimane is pleading with YouTube for help after the video she made in response to Will Smith’s viral Oscar slap was flagged as “inappropriate” for advertisers by the platform.

Will Smith walked on stage at the 94th Academy Awards to slap Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, and the internet can’t get enough of it.

The incident sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, including from high-profile celebrities and fellow comedians like Joe Rogan and even Jim Carrey.

While a slew of influencers have weighed in on the situation, including full video of the slap, Twitch streamer Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys is having trouble sharing her thoughts.

Pokimane noted that she was able to post her reaction to the slap on YouTube without issue on Monday, but that her video has now been flagged as not advertiser friendly.

Other creators have uploaded the slap to YouTube with ads enabled without issue, so she’s completely perplexed. She’s now seeking assistance from the platform and other creators.

While the majority of commenters believe the slap was too “violent” for advertisers, others wonder if her video was specifically targeted by internet trolls, as steamer JustaMinx was recently banned from TikTok three times due to mass reporting.

Fortunately, Pokimane’s video can still be viewed. Anys said that joking about Jada’s alopecia was “s**ty,” but that the situation was “confusing” at first because Smith appeared to be laughing at Rock’s joke.

Will Smith has publicly apologized, and the Academy is currently investigating him for the slap.
