Imane “Pokimane” Anys, a prominent streamer on Twitch, recently joined the ranks of other well-known streamers by appearing on a big billboard in Times Square in New York City.

On one, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins streamed, Dr. Disrespect teased his game, Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter showcased her apparel brand, and Ludwig Ahgren advertised his bidet company. However, Pokimane employed one for a totally different reason. The Moroccan-Canadian streamer’s billboard was set up by the world’s largest audio streaming service, Spotify, who utilized it to promote a playlist of the celebrity’s favorite songs.

It was a lengthy, vertical banner as opposed to a horizontal one, unlike the others. Between the Spotify name and logo, the name of the playlist, “Poki’s Picks,” and an image of the Twitch star looking like a pop singer in the centre, it featured her name in large, bold type. Pokimane loved it and was overjoyed. Midway through Times Square. Thank you!” she exclaimed before adding, “Just another Moroccan W today,” in reference to Morocco’s victory over Spain in the FIFA World Cup’s penalty shootout.

The experience of seeing oneself on display at the well-known tourist attraction has been described as bizarre by other streamers. It demonstrates how far they’ve gone since their beginnings as independent streamers. Pokimane didn’t say it, but given that she collaborated with a significant organization like Spotify, who probably paid for the billboard and made a win-win situation out of it, it must be a sensitive subject.

The world is the oyster of the Twitch queen, who is at the top of her game.
