Imane ‘Pokimane‘ Anys recently has announced that her Twitch contract has expired, leaving fans wondering if she will leave the platform.

Pokimane has been a Twitch mainstay for a long time, and she is one of the platform’s most popular female streamers. She previously held the title of THE most popular female streamer but lost it to Amouranth in 2021. Despite this, she racked up several million views and had a fantastic year in 2021.

That isn’t just in her streaming endeavors. Pokimane has announced that she is the co-founder and CCO of a new company called RTS, has helped fans get scholarships, and much more over the last year. Her Twitch run has been incredible, but a recent tweet suggests it’s coming to an end.

Pokimane doesn’t appear to be retiring, despite having previously stated so, but in a tweet on January 31, she confirms that her Twitch contract has ended after a “wild 2 years.” While she could have renewed, her tweet suggests that she’s decided on something else. It’s unclear what Pokimane’s future holds, but fans will find out soon.

Prior streamers have used similar language when transitioning from Twitch to Facebook Gaming, Twitch to YouTube, or Twitch to Mixer, and she stated that she would see everyone on February 8 for “the next chapter.”

As a result, many people are speculating that Pokimane is leaving Twitch for one of these other services, though she could theoretically still appear on Twitch depending on any contractual obligations that are unknown.

Fans should keep an eye on Pokimane’s social media platforms for an announcement before February 8, which is roughly a week away. If fan speculation is correct and Pokimane is switching platforms, she will most likely reveal this information before her first stream on the new platform. Alternatively, it could have nothing to do with streaming, in which case fans will have to wait until February 8 to see what she has to say.

It could theoretically be something completely different, or even a formal announcement of her departure from Twitch. Given that she plans to “see” fans on February 8, this seems unlikely, but it’s possible that I’m reading too much into it. Regardless, the facts remain the same: Pokimane is no longer bound by his Twitch contract, and he has the option to switch to another service or pursue another path. If not then, fans will likely learn more about the ramifications of her contract’s expiration in the days leading up to February 8th.
