The final four contestants in each of the 27 award categories have been narrowed down by the 2022 Streamer Awards, which are hosted by Maya Higa and QTCinderella, and people can vote for who they think should win in each category. Pokimane, who has previously stated that she doesn’t want fans to vote for her, cast her votes in real time on-stream. Some of the categories were stacked, especially Streamer of the Year, which had Ludwig, Mizkif, xQc, and Sykkuno as nominees. The previous year was fantastic for all four streamers, and Pokimane explained why she voted for xQc when she voted live on-stream.
xQc “is in a league of his own right now,” Pokimane explained, making it difficult not to vote for the streamer. She also stated that no one can truly compete with him due to his long streams, which frequently push the boundaries of what a streamer should do. xQc, according to Pokimane, has a much wider range of content than the other contestants. According to his Twitch channel, he plays “Valorant,” “GTA 5,” “Elden Ring,” and even “Mario Kart 8.”
Pokimane voted for xQc but also said she wanted to vote for Mizkif because the category’s description was “This. Was. Their. Year.”
In Poki’s opinion, both streamers had a fantastic year in their own right. xQc’s year, on the other hand, was on a different plane, one that Mizkif couldn’t quite reach.
This year’s success for xQc has been incredible. When data on Twitch earnings was leaked last year, it revealed that xQc is making millions of dollars from the platform, putting his success on display for all to see. If that wasn’t enough, he made it clear that he isn’t short on cash when he canceled a $1.2 million deal to promote NFTs.
xQc’s success was evident in other ways as well. Fellow streamers like Valkyrae and Pokimane, for example, have become more friendly with xQc. He’s been labeled as toxic in the past and has been banned from a number of websites. After too many Twitch violations in the past, he was sent to “streamer therapy.”
The year 2021 may have been a huge success for the streamer, but it was also a difficult one. Success comes with its own set of issues, and xQc was forced to relocate after someone came looking for him and broke into his home. After Pokimane asked him to stop promoting gambling streams, he received a lot of backlash.
He did, however, end the year on a higher note than he began it, which could be enough to win him Streamer of the Year at the Streamer Awards in 2022.
