Controversial Nadia Amine, a Call of Duty streamer, was temporarily suspended from Twitch before being returned. One of the most divisive characters in the Call of Duty community is Nadia.
Due to odd gameplay videos where it appears that her aim seems to grab on to players, many have accused her of cheating for months. Some have even claimed that she utilized a VPN to match with players who had lesser skill levels. Even though Activision had invited her to participate in events, many continued to doubt her ability.
Naturally, her notorious reputation only contributed to her increasing popularity. She received more attention because of her controversial status, but it also made people more hostile toward her. Nadia was subsequently suspended from Twitch for 14 days “for sharing personal information,” however she didn’t appear to understand why she had been suspended from Twitter. When she eventually apologized on YouTube, she noted that she had said the user’s name in a moment of weakness in an effort to quell the backlash she had been receiving.
Nadia was only suspended from streaming for a day or so due to a suspension from Twitch, which was later lifted.
Many other discussions have been sparked by this entire circumstance. First off, despite breaking the rules, some people were baffled as to why she was allowed back. Twitter users expressed their worries about the possibility that Twitch was favoritizing users by lifting her ban in the comments area of Jake Lucky’s news report, creating a poor precedent.
