Following a copyright strike, YouTuber Darren “IShowSpeed’s” most recent stream was briefly shadow-banned.
Fans believe that the 17-year-old suffered the strike as a result of reacting to a real-life football game that showed blood, while the precise cause is unknown. For those who are unaware, users are typically not allowed to broadcast gore or severe wounds on YouTube. Prior to seeing the video, Darren also responded to some FIFA gameplay, mistaking it for genuine game highlights. It seems extremely improbable that he was given a temporary suspension for showing the game during his stream, though.
The stream from IShowSpeed was down for about four minutes. The screen displayed a notification saying “stream suspended for rules violation” while he was away. Fans were concerned because the boy has already had two channel strikes, even though he returned a short while later. A third offense would have resulted in a YouTube permanent suspension. After being temporally banned, the Ohio-born streamer was able to resume his stream. It seemed as though the somewhat gory video he was responding to prevented viewers from watching his stream. Darren was fortunate in that only one specific video was subject to a copyright strike, not his entire channel.
The streamer looked as lost as his audience when he came back. He stated: “That’s so weird bro.”
A copyright strike normally prevents the owner of the channel from posting anything for a predetermined amount of time. But the streamer has already been warned by two strikes that have already been sent to IShowSpeed. A third offense against the channel has negative repercussions and typically results in channel termination.
After engaging in a s*xually suggestive act while playing a modified version of Minecraft, the 17-year-old received his first strike. After being exposed as toxic toward a minor and for displaying a sex doll in his stream, he received his second strike.
