After a long wait, GTA V‘s much-anticipated next-gen update is finally here. Rockstar has announced that players can now upgrade from their previous generation PlayStation 4 or Xbox One to the next generation consoles, such as the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. This is one of the most significant updates to the game that Rockstar has made in the last decade.

However, some bad news has surfaced, stating that when you transfer your previous-gen console to the next-gen one, all of your saved data will be wiped out.

Fans are outraged at the prospect of their saved data being erased from their consoles as a result of this new update. On Twitter, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the situation.

Many shared that they are having the same issue as a lot of other people who want this upgrade. Another user points out that this was never the case with Xbox 360 and PS3 upgrades. Some players are concerned that their character level and progress will be lost during the transition to the next-gen console.

Aside from that, it’s worth noting that Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online must be purchased separately. GTA V costs $9.99 on PlayStation 5, while GTA Online is free until June 14. GTA V is available for $19.99 and GTA Online is available for $9.99 on Xbox Series X|S.
