Fresh is a life-long FPS grinder, having first started playing Team Fortress 2 when he was just five years old. Years of bot practice enabled him to start participating in LAN events when he was thirteen. He then took these skills across to Fortnite when he began playing it upon its release in 2017. They translated well, as he was soon racking up followers thanks to his high rankings. He then signed on with the Detroit Renegades in August 2018 when he was sixteen years old, which further propelled his channel’s growth. As he has been successful in maintaining his momentum and retaining his skills, we decided to provide you with a detailed list of the peripherals that comprise Fresh’s gaming setup.
WHAT MONITOR DOES FRESH USE?
FRESH uses ASUS ROG Swift PG258Q monitors. Fresh has chosen to use three of these monitors as part of his streaming and gaming setups. It is a 24.5-inch gaming monitor that has a 1920x1080p display with a 1ms response time and a refresh rate of 240Hz. Its screen is embedded with a Tux Rhineland-certified blue light filter and flicker-free backlighting, as well as NVIDIA G-Sync technology to reduce screen tearing.
Although it can be wall-mounted with a VESA mount, its stand can also be adjusted up to 15.24cm (6″) in height, rotated between +50° to -50° and the screen can be tilted up to 160°.
WHAT MOUSE DOES FRESH USE?
FRESH uses both versions of the FinalMouse Air58 mouse. Fresh received a sponsorship from FInalMouse of a few Air58’s in both colors and he uses both of them. The Air58 is an ambidextrous gaming mouse that boasts a PMW 3360 sensor. The DPI button can be used to toggle between the four profile options of 400, 800, 1600 or 3200. It is a lightweight mouse at 58g (2oz), thanks largely to its plastic chassis being dotted with hexagonal holes and its lack of RGB lighting. It also has a flexible, woven 1.78m (70”) bungie cord that is designed to stay out of the user’s way. Furthermore, it also has two programmable macro buttons located on its right thumb side.
WHAT MOUSEPAD DOES FRESH USE?
FRESH uses a HyperX FURY S Pro XL mousepad.The HyperX Fury S XL mousepad is made from a soft cloth fabric and finished with a stitched anti-fray border. It’s dimensions 900 x 420 x 4mm (35.40 x 16.54 x 0.16”) Its underside is made from texturized rubber in order to give it grip so that it will be prevented from moving during use. It can also be gently hand washed in lukewarm water and dishwashing liquid, if needed.
WHAT KEYBOARD DOES FRESH USE?
FRESH uses a HyperX Alloy FPS keyboard. Fresh’s gaming setup includes a full-sized version of the HyperX Alloy FPS keyboard with Kailh Silver Speed switches and dynamic RGB lighting. Although the switches are soldered on, the keycaps can still be replaced. The silver switches have an actuation point of 1.2mm, whereas the red version has an actuation point of 2mm.
It is possible to set and toggle between up to three profiles directly on the keyboard with the F1, F2 and F3 keys. These profiles, as well as the per-key lighting can be set through the NGenuity software. Construction wise, is it built around a solid steel frame and weighs ~1.08kg (2.4lb.) It also has two USB ports, one for the keyboard’s cable and the other as a pass-through port for charging other devices.
WHAT CONTROLLER DOES FRESH USE?
FRESH uses an Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. The Xbox Elite Series 2 is a wireless controller with a battery life of up to 40 hours and charges with a USB-C cable. It is compatible with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X, as well as Windows 10 devices. It also features adjustable tension thumbsticks and a wrap-around rubberized grip. Players can store up to three profiles directly onto the device and toggle between them with the dedicated Profile button.
It also comes with a charging dock and carry case. There is also a set of 6 thumbsticks (2 Standard, 2 Classic, 1 Tall and 1 Wide Dome), a set of four paddles (2 Medium and 2 Mini) as well as a set of 2 D-pads (1 Standard and 1 Faceted) and a thumbstick-adjustment tool. The battery is built into the device.
WHAT HEADSET DOES FRESH USE?
FRESH uses a HyperX Cloud Alpha headset. Fresh uses the same headset as Pokimane. They are a closed-backed, over-ear, wireless headset that is constructed on an aluminum frame which ways 336g overall. The stereo sound is enhanced by openings at the top of the earcups that help to create a sound-staging effect that is designed to provide the user with an immersive open-space experience while they are playing. This effect can be controlled via the inline audio control box. Its noise-cancelling microphone is removable.
Both the headband and earcups are cushioned with a leatherette padding. Additionally, the headband is adjustable and the earcups are rotatable. The drivers have a frequency response range of 13-27,000Hz, a nominal impedance of 65Ohms.
WHAT MICROPHONE DOES FRESH USE?
FRESH uses a Shure SM7B microphone. Fresh uses the same mic as many other top streamers, including Shroud, chocoTaco and Loeya. It is a unidirectional cardioid microphone that boasts a full metal chassis as well as an external foam windscreen that is designed to reduce electrical and mechanical noise interference. Similarly, it also has an internal pop filter in order to reduce plosive sounds from disturbing the recordings. There is a presence boost button and high press filter switch located on its body as well.
Its frequency response range is between 50 – 20,000Hz and its sensitivity is at -59dB. It also has an impedance of 150Ohms and runs on phantom power of 48 volts, meaning that it will require the additional investment of both an XLR cable and audio interface in order to register on the recording device.
