Emily Schunk AKA ‘Emiru’ was in the middle of a tense Super Mario 64 speedrun when fellow Twitch streamer Natalia Mogollon AKA ‘Alinity’ barged into her room, distracting her and putting an end to the run in the worst possible way.

Emiru has moved into Mizkif’s streaming house with a friend and collaborator, and the two have been producing a lot of content together.

Even a Super Mario 64 speedrun competition pitted the two against each other, with Emiru coming out on top. Emiru has gained a reputation on Twitch as an extremely skilled SM64 speedrunner, in addition to her extensive and impressive cosplay feats.

On December 8th, however, Emiru was streaming her latest speedrun of the N64 game when things went wrong.

During Emiru’s run, Alinity paid a visit to Mizkif’s streaming house and dropped by her room.

Emiru was nearing her personal best timing near the end of a Super Mario 64 speedrun. Alinity demanded as she entered the room saying that they don’t stop speedrunning and carry on.

Alinity mentioned that she was on her way out of Mizkif’s stream and just wanted to say hello, but her greeting distracted Emiru, who asked how did it go and that she’s in the middle of her gamer void, so she’s not sure.

While Emiru was conversing with Alinity, she accidentally directed Mario into lava, effectively ending the run.

She missed out on a chance to beat her personal best when the speedrun ended at 21:29:40 and she hadn’t gotten distracted and done that nonsense at the end, that could’ve easily been twenty minutes

Emiru said that it is not Alinity’s fault, saying that it’s just stupid, and deflecting blame away from Alinity.
