Yiliang ‘Doublelift‘ Peng, a former LoL pro turned streamer, said he still has the desire to compete in the LCS, though he admits it would take a long time to get back into shape.
After one of the most successful careers in League of Legends history, Doublelift retired from competitive play in November 2020.
He’s since become a full-time streamer and still plays a lot of League of Legends on his Twitch channel.
During an episode of his new talk show “Trash Talk,” he hinted that he still wants to play professionally, despite the fact that it may never happen.
On the second episode of his show, co-hosted by former pros Zach ‘Sneaky‘ Scuderi and William ‘Meteos‘ Hartman, the trio discussed whether they would ever consider leaving their streaming careers to return to professional play.
Doublelift explained that he does consider it he has the urge to compete because it is something that is romanticized in their minds and is extremely fulfilling. It’s something he enjoys, and it’s for this reason that he’ll feel compelled to compete.
Doublelift hinted at a comeback before the LCS Spring split in 2022, but it never materialized. After having a falling out with TSM owner Reginald, it’s unlikely that he’ll return to the company.
