Popular streamers are returning to Apex Legends ahead of the game’s Season 10 update in August, although most of this is because of the current situation of Warzone.
The game’s next big patch is jam-packed with new content, including a new Legend, Seer, as well as character buffs and nerfs and map modifications. There will undoubtedly be a lot for Apex fans to get their teeth into in Apex Legends. On the other hand, one of its largest rival games in the battle royale genre, Call of Duty: Warzone has a distinct sense of stagnation.
After a poor Season 4 debut that paled in comparison to its predecessor’s Nuke Event – not to mention the game’s ongoing hacking problem – it seems like a damaged automobile in its present state. For some folks, a fresh coat of paint will not be enough.
Now, some of the most popular streamers are shifting their focus to other games, and Apex Legends appears to be the greatest winner as a result of its flaws.
Let’s start with NICKMERCS, who has created a remarkable community as a result of his engagement with Warzone. On a seasonal basis, they return for his advice, finest loadouts, and views. From a business standpoint, he’d probably want nothing more than for Warzone to be a commercial success. While he hasn’t fully abandoned Call of Duty, he is beginning to devote more time to Apex Legends. In fact, as I was writing this piece, he was streaming it live.
The map, the FOV slider, and the fact that there is still a lot of work to be done on glitches, according to the FaZe Clan creator, are three things that desperately need to change in Warzone. He added that he thinks that they need a whole new map, a departure from Verdansk..He believes it was a hit-or-miss situation. At first, He assumed that it had some kind of sauce or taste… But, in the end, He didn’t think that they should be playing with this. An island motif with beaches, ocean, palm trees and rainforest is what he is looking for. It’s unclear whether he’ll return for a future update, but based on his comments, he’s hoping for major improvements. Let’s face it, he’s not entirely incorrect.
TimTheTatman is up next, with over 6.8 million Twitch followers. He has expressly said that ideally, he would not be getting into Respawn’s game at all, in contrast to NICKMERCS, who is loving the grind of Apex on live. Recently, he remarked during a broadcast on July 27th. If I’m playing Apex, you know Warzone is in trouble.
Before checking at the controls, he added that he can’t even remember what he is doing here. Tim actually pointed out certain instances where Apex Legends falls short of Warzone and even Fortnite back in May, barely two months ago. While debating Apex’s ranking, he informed his stream that he is going to flat out and why he didn’t really love Apex that much. The first is the time-to-kill” (TTK). The time to kill is quite long. He is now playing Warzone, so he is pretty familiar with the game. He added that the other thing that he didn’t like is the armor system. He hates the fact that anyone can have gold armor which he can totally shred, and then you can just easily change out for another gold armor and have a complete armor once more.
One of Tim’s friends, Jack Dunlop AKA ‘CouRage’, has also been playing with the Legend-based multiplayer game Fortnite. He has been skeptical of CoD’s battle royale title for a long time. As much as he wanted to enjoy it, he remarked in February that he was “sick” of the frequent difficulties with hacking and glitchy gaming. He added that his attention span for Warzone and ability to play the game itself is at an all-time low.
He said that the reason for his quitting with Nick, Tim, and Cloak is because he is already sick with the game. He enjoyed Warzone, but he despised it as well. If they are cheated against, they will be pursued by stream snipers. For the seventh time, there is a stim glitch.
Despite the fact that there have been several updates since then, including Season 4 and Season 4: Reloaded, it appears the streamer is still skeptical. Apex Legends has 180,000 Twitch viewers at the time of writing, compared to 133,000 for Warzone.
In the great scheme of things, the margin isn’t much, but it’s a NICKMERCS-shaped hole in CoD viewing.
Warzone received 92.3 million views in June, according to Newzoo, a company that tracks Twitch viewer statistics, compared to 47.7 million for Apex. With so many streamers trying out different games, it’ll be fascinating to watch whether those numbers alter between July and August, depending on how each game’s upcoming releases turn out.
So Activision’s game appears to be winning in terms of statistics, but the unifying denominator here is that if it came down to these streamers, there would be no dispute over which is better: Apex Legends or Warzone? The latter would easily win, but the truth is that there are too many concerns for them to devote their time to it in its current condition, and that is a feeling shared by many in the community.
For the time being, Warzone may be on top, but only time will tell if this is a significant change or a blip.
