TapL
Family
He has two dogs.
Name Origins
My made my name “tapl” before people started using the letter l for loser. The name originated from my Xbox gamertag 10 years ago and has evolved to what it is today. It evolved as: appleman158 -> TehApple -> Tapple -> TapL
Gaming Origins
TapL started playing video games on a GameCube with his brother he was four years old. He began playing Minecraft on his Xbox in 2012. He initially played offline. He especially enjoyed inventing redstone contraptions. He got into PVP in 2015 when he switched to PC after his Xbox broke. He was soon appearing on the HyPixel SkyWars server. He was so addicted to it, that he would often play it for eight hours after school. As a kid, he used to skateboard around, but was never seriously into it.
He nearly attempted college after high school but decided to opt out in order to pursue fulltime content creation instead. His parents were not thrilled with this decision initially.
Professional Gaming
He uploaded his first YouTube video in July 2014 because he thought it looked like fun. It was also easy for him to do so, as he was mainly playing Pixel Gun 3D on mobile at that time. This app allowed him to record and upload during gameplay directly onto his phone through the in-game green recorder. His first video went viral, which motivated him to continue uploading more content. But he only began streaming regularly on Twitch in May 2020. He received Twitch partnership in June 2020. Most of the streamers that he collaborates with, he met through the HyPixel server and became friends with over time.
He decided to create his own server because he had been hosting UHDs on random worlds for his friends since 2014, when there had still been an 8-person cap and he wanted to host them for larger groups. He is now the proud co-owner of tapple.world.
Income
According to TapL’s Twitch overlay, he has over 1,150 subscribers. As he often attracts over 2,000 viewers, he should therefore be earning at least ~$4,025 USD per month. This excludes additional income from other sources such as sponsorships, donations, advertising revenue, tiered subscriptions, and Twitch cheer bit contributions.
Streaming Hours
Varies weekly.

[Whenever I’m not motivated to do YouTube], I just think back to my goal of trying to be consistent. I feel like if you are unmotivated, you kind of forget why you are doing the things that you’re doing and making sure you have a well-established goal in your mind helps you to guide you to keep doing what you want to be doing. Having a low point is completely common and normal.
