Dr Disrespect recently announced that he has “resolved” his legal dispute with Twitch, putting an end to a year-and-a-half of conflict between the streamer and the platform.
Twitch permanently suspended Dr Disrespect from the platform in June 2020, and he claims the company never explained why he was kicked off. Dr Disrespect, who had an exclusive contract with the platform, threatened legal action after his permanent suspension and eventually moved to YouTube.
According to his social media post, neither the Doc nor Twitch were willing to admit any wrongdoing, and the streamer stated that he is “moving on.”
Dr Disrespect confirmed in a follow-up post that, while the dispute has been resolved, he will not be returning to Twitch. He’ll keep streaming on YouTube Gaming.
Doc was one of Twitch’s highest-paid content creators prior to his ban, and he announced last August that he was preparing a lawsuit against the platform. He said he still doesn’t know why he was banned more than a year later.
