In his most recent stream, xQc said that his decision to switch from Twitch to Kick was not solely motivated by the company’s recent mistakes but had been something he had been “thinking about” for “months.”

Streaming is now a fairly common method of distributing content to audiences. Due to the intense competition, platforms like Twitch, YouTube, Rumble, and Kick are all battling for viewers and top streamers. Kick just announced a non-exclusive partnership with two of the largest figures in today’s entertainment, xQc and more recently Amouranth, suggesting that it has been making moves in the streaming wars. In addition, Twitch’s planned and swiftly abandoned policy modifications have resulted in a few high-profile gaffes. Some of which have drawn criticism from the public and caused the streaming website to face some reaction.

Internet sensation xQc claims that Twitch’s policy errors were not the primary factor in his decision to switch to the new platform. He just stated that he has actually been considering a move to Kick for a couple of months. xQc revealed how he had been considering the move to Kick for “months” before acting on it just lately on a recent stream with Pokimane. Assuring that he wanted to be certain in his choice and taking some time to become comfortable with everything, xQc admitted that he was actually somewhat nervous about making the move. “Yeah, I’ll be honest with you. I was super scared,” the streamer admitted in conversation with Pokimane.

He went on to say that despite the recent scandals surrounding Twitch, they were not the true driving force behind the move. Many people believe that I left Twitch because the company was acting strangely and making horrible decisions, which is why I did it. This is something I’ve been considering for months. xQc indicated that in order to make the move, he had to spend the necessary time to prepare mentally. “I had to really give it a try in my head and really get there mentally. Because I was never going to swap unless I was fully there mentally. It’s all in pretty much. I don’t like doing half ideas, I have to be in or not.”

With his historic two-year, non-exclusive Kick agreement, xQc is now sort of all-in and expected to make up to $100 million, which could mean an extra $10,000 in his bank account per hour. With more than a million new users switching to the platform as a result of the juicer’s announcement, it has already resulted in tremendous growth for the company.
