Regarding Ricegum’s assertion that he would have had to wager on Kick had he joined the Stake-backed site instead of joining Rumble, streaming star xQc is dubious.
Kick has been attempting to compete with Twitch and establish itself in the livestreaming space for the past few months. Adin Ross and xQc are two well-known individuals who they have signed, with the latter receiving a huge contract. There have been many claims that the Stake-backed site is looking for others as well, and that Ricegum has received an offer from them. However, the veteran video producer claims that he chose to join Rumble instead of Kick since he would have had to wager on Kick to earn his contract’s maximum amount. However, xQc questions whether that is accurate given that his contract lacks a clause of such nature.
In his July 5 live, the streaming celebrity criticized Ricegum’s action, calling anyone who thinks that it “exposes” Kick’s contract “dumb” for thinking that way. xQc said after watching a part of Ricegum’s announcement; “Brother, I guarantee it, he’s the one who brought up gamba in his own thing. I guarantee it because if it was the main goal they probably would have brought it up with me. It was probably him who brought it up like ‘Oh yeah this amount, what if I gamba this’ and they said ‘If you want to gamba then it’s this amount if they want to lump it together’ and then he’s probably got mad that the amount wasn’t enough. That’s just how it is! This is nothing new, holy f*ck.”
Even though Kick affords streamers more alternatives after Twitch’s crackdown, xQc has rarely streamed gambling-related content since switching over. It is uncertain whether more streamers will relocate there and, if so, whether they will have experience producing gambling-related content.
