Twitch streamer Felix Lengyel AKA “xQc” recently criticized Twitch for undervaluing some of its top creators following Ludwig Ahgren‘s recent move to YouTube Gaming.
Ludwig announced his move to YouTube Gaming in a video last November 30th. xQc spoke about Ludwig’s decision, claiming that Twitch has been selling some of its creators short in recent years.
Ludwig was seen driving a purple car that eventually burst into flames in his announcement video. Following the announcement, xQc talked about why he thinks creators are less likely to sign exclusive contracts with Twitch these days than they are with YouTube Gaming or Facebook Gaming.
Twitch undervalues its top content creators by not paying them what they deserve, according to xQc.
Ludwig recently explained his decision to leave Twitch in a YouTube video. Despite the fact that he enjoys Twitch, the creator claimed that he did not feel appreciated by the platform. xQc appeared to agree with Ludwig, claiming that Twitch has been undervaluing its top creators in recent years. xQc stated that it is always an issue for small and large amounts of money, and that it is not about the money, but rather what the money means.
Despite acknowledging the value that top creators bring, the streamer claimed that Twitch tends to offer less money to them. Top creators, according to xQc, are more likely to accept low-ball offers simply because the offers are still worth millions of dollars.
As a result, xQc believes that most top creators are not getting paid as much as they deserve from Twitch. Top creators accept the offers because they aren’t obsessed with making money, but they aren’t being fairly compensated for the overall value they bring to the platform.
