Since its release in 2020, Riot Games’ first-person shooter Valorant has become a popular entry in the hero shooter subgenre. Its rise in popularity isn’t slowing down either. Riot Games frequently takes up two of the five most viewed categories on the streaming platform Twitch, thanks to their large following.

With such a large audience, many people are wondering what Valorant will do next. Many people are curious if the hero shooter will be released on their preferred consoles.

There are currently no publicly known plans to bring the hero shooter to consoles, which is unfortunate for players who want to climb the ranks of Valorant on their Xbox, PlayStation, or even Nintendo Switch.

It’s a little more complicated than simply saying “no.” While there have been no public announcements about the game’s porting to consoles, it appears that it will happen. Eventually.

Riot Games recently posted a job listing for a “Senior Game Designer, Console – Valorant” on their website, implying that the studio is at the very least considering porting their popular hero shooter to consoles in the future. It’s possible that it won’t be for a while.

The fact that we already know Riot is planning on expanding where players can enjoy Valorant is further supporting this idea of a console port, as executive producer Anna Donlon announced a mobile port would be in the works in June of 2021.
