Corpse Husband, a popular YouTuber, has landed his first major voice acting role in the upcoming anime Tribe Nine as Ojiro Otori, the main antagonist.

Tribe Nine, which includes the popular streamer and musician, has a star-studded cast of both Japanese and English voice actors announced by Funimation.

Ojiro is seen walking out to a helicopter platform from a short clip shared in the announcement, peering over a Tokyo skyline. Before walking away, he takes a look at the cityscape while holding a baseball bat in his right hand and says, “how insignificant.”

The streamer is making a surprise return with this announcement. His first tweet on his main account in nearly half a year was the announcement. In what appears to be perfect casting for the role, he’s back as Ojiro Otori, the main antagonist of Tribe Nine, in an exciting performance.

In a dystopian Neo Tokyo, where traditional society has been pushed to the sidelines, children form their own tribes. All conflicts are resolved through “Extreme Baseball,” a version of baseball in which players can use futuristic equipment to avoid violence.

Kodaka Kazutaka, the creator of Danganronpa, will direct the series, which will premiere in the winter of this year. LIDENFILMS created the animation and Yu Aoki directed the film. There’s also a baseball-themed video game adaptation based on the anime.

The Twitch streamer Corpse Husband isn’t the first to venture into the world of voice acting. Lily “LilyPichu” Ki, a well-known Twitch streamer, has landed roles in a variety of games and anime. Yoshi from Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro from Genshin Impact, and Sayo from Genshin Impact are among them.

Despite the fact that this will be Corpse Husband’s first voice acting role, he is no stranger to the world of voice acting. In 2015, he became well-known for telling horror stories on YouTube. Since then, 7.6 million people have subscribed to his channel. The multi-talented content creator stepping into the world of voice acting should be a natural fit for his new role as Ojiro Otori.
