Trick2G is an OG League of Legends streamer. He first began playing it around mid-2010 and then uploading YouTube videos for it in October 2010. As he became more familiar with the Championes, he started releasing MyWay Champion spotlights and tips that helped to boost his channel’s following. He occasionally even set new meta standards, as was the case with Nunu in June 2013 after someone released his ‘Broken Nunu Jungle’ onto Reddit. However, he is mainly known for jungling and especially for his Udyr mastery. Below, we have provided a list of equipment that comprises Trick2G’s gaming setup.

WHAT MICROPHONE DOES TRICK2G USE?

WHAT MICROPHONE DOES TRICK2G USE as part of his streaming setup

Trick2G uses a Shure SM7B microphone. The Shure SM7B is among the more popular microphones and is also used by the likes of KingRichard, CohhCarnage and Nadeshot, to name a few. It is a dynamic microphone with a unidirectional polar pattern that helps to prevent background noise from filtering in, as does the removable external A7WS windscreen. It is also fitted with a built-in pop-filter to guard against plosive sounds, as well as internal air suspension shock isolation technology to guard against electronic audio interference from monitors and other electronic devices.

It has a frequency response range of 50- 20,000H, a sensitivity of -50dB and a nominal impedance of 150Ω. It doesn’t require phantom power but does still need an XLR cable and audio interface to connect to the recording device. If the cartridge wears down, it can be replaced with an RPM106 part.

WHAT WEBCAM DOES TRICK2G USE?

Trick2G's webcam for streaming

For his streaming setup Trick2G uses a Sony Alpha a6000 and a Sony Alpha a6500 camera. Both cameras are mirrorless DSLR cameras, with the a6500 being the third upgrade of the original model. Spec -wise, both have an ISO range of 100 – 25,600 that can be expanded up to 51,200, have a 3” tilting screen,  have the potential for 11fps continuous shooting, built-in wireless internet, and a 24MP APS-C CMOS Sensor.

In terms of differences, the a6000’s dimensions are 120 x 67 x 45cm and it weighs 344g, whereas  the a6500’s are 12 x 6.7 x 5.3cm with a weight of 453g and the a6000 can record videos at up to Full HD 1920 x 1080 at 24p or fast-paced action shots at 60p and 60i frame-rates, while the a6500s can record up to 4K UHD for a resolution of up to 3840 x 2160 with fast-paced capabilities of 120fps.

Furthermore, the a6500 has additional features that the a6000 doesn’t, such as being weather-sealed, having a 2,359k viewfinder and sensor-shift image stabilization capabilities, to name a few. Which leads us to the next obvious difference: the a6000’s base price is $548 (occasionally on sale $448), while the a6500 is $1,145.

These are obviously designed for professional photography and IRL video recording, rather than basic streaming. His choice of expensive pro-level cameras is especially interesting since he rarely chats at full screen. If you’re starting out, you might want to consider going for a standard plug-and-play webcam before investing a more expensive camera that is possibly unnecessary to your needs.
