Mental health is one of the most pressing issues confronting people today, not just in the gaming industry but across the globe, with the portrayal of mental health in video games a hot topic among many in the industry. The Mental Health Foundation of the United Kingdom recently released a study urging game developers to make changes in the industry that will benefit both the mental health of industry employees and many gaming communities. Now, a well-known Twitch personality is urging other content creators to join in the movement.
Twitch streamer Trainwreck with nearly 2 million followers, hasn’t been shy about sharing the wealth he’s amassed from his successful career on the platform. Last year, the streamer donated over $4 million to charity, including gifts to friends and fellow streamers, as well as a donation to GTA streamer Buudha after his mother died. Trainwreck also hosts charity streams with his gambling streams to raise money for various humanitarian organizations, and he recently announced his plans to start a mental healthcare fund.
