During a tense episode she witnessed live, a Russian streamer was attacked and pursued by an angry guy.
IRL (short for “In Real Life”) feeds, which follow streamers as they travel the globe and share their daily life with viewers, are some of Twitch’s most interesting broadcasts. These broadcasts can, however, also catch horrifying events as they unfold in real time. Numerous IRL broadcasters have seen crimes happen in real life, or even been victims of them, while their audience watched everything unfold live. One streamer, for instance, captured the moment a woman’s pocketbook was stolen outside a Gucci store in Paris, capturing the offender pulling the victim along the ground while she resisted releasing her grip on her bag.
Thanks to an IRL streamer who was live-broadcasting her international trips in Madrid, Spain, another wild moment has now been caught on camera. The Russian Twitch streamer “di_rubens” came across a group of men who didn’t appear to enjoy being filmed while she was mid-broadcast.
One of the males got up from where he was sitting on the side of the road after having an argument with her and appeared to hit her camera. Not only that, but the man even followed her as the streamer moved away, the two of them bickering back and forth the entire time. Before the streamer could effectively flee, the man was able to hit her camera once again. He obviously didn’t want to be filmed at the time, which is what finally seems to have started their heated argument.
Despite the fact that the streamer was surrounded by onlookers the entire time, nobody intervened to assist defuse the situation. Despite the alarming nature of the event, this isn’t an unusual occurrence for IRL streamers going abroad.
