Having a good aim is necessary regardless of which weapon you use in Warzone if you want to consistently score big kills and claim victory. JGOD, a Warzone expert, explains how to drastically improve your aim while playing on a console.

Despite all the talk about the best loadouts, buffs, and nerfs, it’s nearly impossible to win a Warzone match if your aim isn’t up to par.

In this regard, console Warzone players have always felt at a disadvantage compared to PC Warzone players. Players on Xbox and PlayStation often feel like they’re fighting a losing battle due to the accuracy of a mouse and keyboard, as well as the lack of a FOV slider.

Fortunately, Warzone expert JGOD has broken down the basic mistakes that players make when aiming at the console.

Warzone console players have an 80-degree field of view, which is significantly less than the 120-degree field of view available on PC, so Xbox and PlayStation users are naturally more zoomed in. As a result, console gamers will experience more visual recoil, making shooting in a straight line more difficult.

JGOD outlined an easy way for console players to improve their aim, especially at long range, in his May 9 video. He gave us a thorough explanation of each tip before demonstrating it in action.

Many controller players will adjust their aim during combat using the right stick because it is the most natural way to do so. However, JGOD explained that aiming this way makes it easy to “over adjust,” so he recommends aiming with the left stick.

He felt it was much easier to make micro-adjustments to your aim to keep the sights locked on the target by using the movement stick to strafe while firing. This is due to the fact that moving the right stick slightly shifts the aim in any direction, whereas the left stick allows for more precise movement.

Meanwhile, he recommended that players use the right stick to “find the zero,” a point where recoil is almost non-existent when firing. Pulling down on the right analog stick while firing in a fixed position accomplishes this.

JGOD explained that by combining these two tips, players’ aim will barely move, even in long-range firefights. In fact, he demonstrated that when snapping onto a new target, big movements from the right stick should be used, and then players should return to finding that zero recoils sweet spot.

When you consider the aim assist that controller players get, this strategy is extremely effective. Strafing to aim provides more rotational aim assistance up to 200 meters, making the assist stronger and easier to maintain.

Take JGOD’s advice into consideration the next time you visit Caldera or Rebirth Island. You’ll be hitting every shot in no time with a little practice and our recommended controller settings.
