Popular Twitch streamer Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris has been unbanned. On April 13, the star received an unexpected two-week ban, which was seven days longer than many in the community had anticipated.

Twitch did not provide an explanation for why Sodapoppin was banned; however, fans speculated that it was because of a “black face” joke he made.

Sodapoppin had been creating a character for a game during his Twitch stream prior to his suspension. He made the remark that he now believes led to his suspension when a segment of the creation appeared.

Prior to his suspension, Soda released a statement on April 9th.

Following his channel’s re-instatement, Sodapoppin expressed similar sentiments to viewers, admitting that he deserved the Twitch ban.

Family members had questioned Sodapoppin’s racism after the incident, he said. The streamer expanded on his Reddit post by describing a comment he had seen. Sodapoppin’s schedule had remained consistent throughout 2022 prior to his ban. Now that his channel is back online, the Twitch star can resume streaming as usual.
