A YouTube star Slim Albaher has withdrawn from his boxing match against fellow YouTuber Ryan Taylor after a personal altercation between the two creators allegedly resulted in serious eye damage to Slim.
Slim Albaher is a YouTuber with a boxing background. The creator, who has over 616,000 subscribers, is 3-0 and has won all of his fights by TKO. Slim was recently announced as a part of the boxing production ‘Kingpyn.’
Slim was scheduled to face Ryan Taylor, an influencer who famously headbutted his opponent on the Showstar USA vs UK card in March.
Slim claimed that “no one wants to work” with Taylor, prompting his opponent to throw a water bottle at his head during the press conference for this fight, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, July 16.
After that, things didn’t calm down. Instead, Taylor and his entourage arrived at Slim’s hotel lobby in London, where the two got into a physical altercation after a disagreement between their camps.
Taylor is seen pushing Slim into a table and knocking him to the ground in video from the incident. Slim threw a feint after recovering, and Taylor retaliated with a kick before putting Slim in a headlock and punching at his head in an attempt to break free.
Slim detailed the incident in a YouTube video posted on June 12 in which he claimed that Taylor’s punches caused a detached retina and severe swelling in his eye.
Slim went on to say that due to his injury, doctors had advised him against participating in combat sports. He’s since dropped out of the Kingpyn boxing event, but Taylor claims he’s already found a replacement opponent.
Slim is unlikely to return to the ring anytime soon, though he does plan to box once he recovers.
