NFTs have recently become a hot topic in the gaming community. Last week, Dr Disrespect‘s game studio, Midnight Society, announced the inclusion of NFTs in the company’s first game, which sparked outrage from the community. Shroud, a popular FPS streamer, also chimed in with his thoughts on how NFTs are being implemented in video games during a broadcast yesterday.

When Shroud brought up the comparison between NFTs and Twitch drops, a system that rewards viewers with in-game items for watching streams for a certain amount of time, the conversation erupted.

Shroud went on to say that if game developers want to use NFTs in their games, they’ll have to put more “thought” into it.

Shroud isn’t the only streamer who has expressed dissatisfaction with the way NFTs have been implemented in video games recently.

Asmongold, a well-known MMO streamer, recently shared his thoughts on the digital art form as well. He explained that in order to sell something, such as NFTs, one must first understand what their target audience wants. Midnight Society has failed to do so, according to the streamer, and Dr Disrespect’s “authenticity” may be called into question by fans as a result.
