Twitch star Michael Grzesiek aka Shroud has shared what concerned him surrounding the game New World beta stating that it might have burned out the players before its official launch.
Amazon Games, after a history of troubled game releases, is trying to get it right with the MMORPG New World, which has been delayed to September following beta player feedback. New World has had a long road to release, just one victim of the many video game delays over the last year and a half.
It was originally supposed to launch in May of 2020, but was delayed by over a year. The game is nearly finished, but players going hands-on in the closed beta in late July and subsequently providing feedback, seems to have pushed the project even further. Some twitch streamers such as Asmongold were quick to criticize bugs and issues, which is an inevitable part of the process.
Also, twitch streamer shroud reviews the game stating that New World’s PvE gameplay is more exciting than PvP and that he had high hopes for its future. However, considering how hard some people went in the beta and the fact progress doesn’t carry over to the full game, Shroud was now concerned that some players and streamers could get burnt out before the official launch.
During a recent stream, he discussed the matter as he stated; “The game’s great, don’t get me wrong. But putting all that much time only for it to go away, it kind of just hurts my soul. I can’t take being that level and putting in all that time just to lose it. ‘Do I think people are going to get burnt out before the game actually releases?’ Some people, yeah. But it depends on the person. A regular player will get burnt out before the game comes out. But if you’re looking at streamers, their burnout phase ties in with their channel viewership.”
